Loading ...The Bedford Museum Genealogy and History Forum is a group that meets to discuss local history and genealogy. We are a very informal group and we welcome anyone who loves to discuss local history.
Steve StClair will be our guest at this meeting. His family has been in Bedford for over one hundred years. His grandfather John Lewis StClair was raised in the Sheep Creek area and moved to Mons in the early 1900s. Steve was born in the John Russell Hospital in Bedford and has many stories about the area. He is researching surnames StClair, Whorley (Bedford), Carter (Thaxton), Bryant( Botetourt), Markhams (Big Island) and Strawn (Bedford). There will also be a discussion about the new book “Alexander StClair 1670-1747” recently donated to the Museum.
The meeting will be held at the Museum at 201 East Main St. next door to the courthouse. There is parking available and an elevator to the third floor. There is no charge.
