Not once, twice or even three times. Forbes.com is announcing for the fourth year in a row that Virginia is the “best state for business.” The site takes criteria like labor supply and growth opportunities into consideration, but there’s something bigger than a ranking that draws companies to the Commonwealth.
CMC Rebar has seen its share of success lately. Three years ago, the metalworks company decided to expand in Madison Heights. But Robbie Hall will admit that it wasn’t a spot on any list that clinched the deal. “It wasn’t a key factor in our decision I can tell you for sure, but it was evidence of why those decisions are being made.” Hall believes a strong relationship with CVCC helped.
Across town at Areva, George Beam, said, “We’re strategically located, I mean, Virginia happens to be in the middle of the eastern seaboard.
