84 Lumber in Madison Heights Re-Opening
January 18, 2010
The 84 Lumber store in Madison Heights is opening again and bringing 12 jobs with it.
On Thursday, the store began receiving shipments to restock the store, which sells lumber and other materials, mainly to contractors building new homes. Jeff Nobers, 84 Lumber spokesman, said the store should be fully functional in a couple of days.
The company closed the store on South Amherst Highway in February 2009 because of market conditions, but “the Lynchburg market was one that we felt would, at some time, come back,” Nobers said.
Nobers said 84 Lumber was performing end-of-year assessments of its store when it decided to reopen the Madison Heights location. “It just made sense to reopen the Lynchburg facility,” he said.
